My young bonsai tree?
Got a little bonsai tree kit for Xmas which I hear are unreliable to say the least but found that I got about 10 11 little seedlings starting to grow in one pot most are dead or dying but the others are growing nicely there are 2 about 2 inches big with no leaves just sort of pines and 2 very small 1 2 inch with 2 leaves, I hear you are supposed to leave them until they grow more leaves then re pot but with the other ones dying i was told they will die in the same pot. So my questions are 1. What do I do with the small ones?2. What do I do with the piney ones?3. Can anyone hazard a guess at the what kind they are or where from, bearing in mind they are from a commercial bonsai tree kit from gift republic? And any other advice?

How cold does it have to get for a juniper bonsai tree to go dormant?
I received a bonsai tree for christmas, and this is my second go round with bonsai trees. The first one i got was more of a test to see if i liked them. I didn't really look into the care of it much and it died. I did figure out that I really like them though, and someone gave me a juniper bonsai. Its probably 3.75'' 4.0'' tall, I'm not sure how old that would make it, but i know it came from a farm in texas. I live in southern Louisiana, and i know winters here don't really get cold.i read that in order for the juniper bonsai to continue to grow correctly, it needs to go through a dormant stage of about 6 weeks at least. and to activate that i would need to let it get cold enough to let it go dormant. My question is, Can i simulate this in order to keep it inside? and if not, does it get cold enough here to activate its dormant period? With the humidity and the constant urge for the weather to rain this winter, i would hate to put my new bonsai outside where it couldn't go dormant and have more issues with over watering or a bug infestation. Any advice to help my hopefully new hobby would be very much appreciated, even if its not about the dormant phase.
How often should I water my bonsai tree?
I'm really beginning to worry about my bonsai tree who I have named Gizmo . I read on another online source that if the leaves go yellow you're watering it too much, and now he has a few yellow leaves, but his soil is so dry and I don't want him to be thirsty I only water him once or twice a day so I didn't think I was over doing it.Also is there a time of year I should prune him? He has some wayward brances now but should I leave it till spring?Hoping you guys can help I don't want to kill him As you can tell by the fact he has a name, I am very fond of him.
How do i take care of my bonsai tree? is it dead?
so i bought a little very cheap bonsai tree at the LA county fair, somewhere during september or october. i got a bonsai book from the library, and i really didn't learn that much. first of all, im pretty sure my tree is a mame bonsai? like, its really small, and i didn't see a pic of it in the book. and really, i don't know how to care for it truthfully, i barely water it, and im not even sure if its dead. the leaves are green. i scraped the trunk with a key, and it was greenish yellow, which means its alive right? but i haven't done anything to it, like, AT ALL. what am i supposed to do to care for it? any websites on pruning and fertilizing and stuff?
How can I save my bonsai tree?!?
So I bought a bonsai tree about eight weeks ago. It's eight years old.I wasn't too happy with it's condition when it arrived some roots were sticking out the soil, which was hard and dry. A lot of leaves had fallen off in transport. Although I have followed the care instructions to the letter, my bonsai tree seems to be dying The leaves are falling off in droves and there are hardly any left on the tree.I don't know if it's beyond saving at this point, but if there's something I can do to bring it around please let me know. This is an indoor bonsai tree.It is a Chinese Elm Bonsai.
Juniper bonsai tree care help?
My friend got me a Juniper bonsai tree from the mall for Christmas and I need to know how to take of it. I live in CT and I know bonsais need to hibernate during the winter by putting it outside but it gets really cold here and I'm afraid to put it outside. My house is like 60 degrees F most of the time and its like 20 degrees F outside. How often should I water it? It's really young little and some of the branches are a really light brown like they are dead but they still have green coming from them? Can you guys tell me if this okay and if it's healthy? I'm afraid it may be dying because of the bad care it got from the mall... Any tips for care? I always wanted a bonsai tree and am determined to have it live a long time.
