Okay any advice here is completely accepted that being said....... 1. I have recently found an interest in bonsai. I have watched a lot of videos and read a lot of articles but none have answered these questions. I went out and clipped a branch of af a crepe myrtle tree (very pretty when in bloom) i figured i could grow roots on it by setting it in water for a few weeks. Will this work? and if not how can i make this plan to where it does work? 2. Where can i get supplies for this project ( I live in Irving Texas just north of Dallas) Supplies like the pot the soil some of the wire mesh and wire. I don't have a credit card so i can't order online. 3. Are Crepe Myrtles indoor or outdoor trees, how often should they be watered and what ind of climate do they originate from. To be frank, where do they originate from. 4. And last but not least. I wish to tap into you creative side. I have to little branches of it i was thinking i might be able to at some train them to twist around each other is this or is this not a good idea if not what should i do with them? For all you help thank you in advance. also any tips you could give me would be greatly appreciated

1) propagate by cuttage, long, leafless, hardwood cuttings in early winter when dormant one of thse plants that roots when it enters it's groeing season in spring. crape-myrtle is one of few plants that go dormant even down here in florida. would look great as bonsai; but not best choise for first attempt. 2) lowes - home depote or the like. 3)crape myrtles are native to deep south old world tropic.in florida we grow them outside to a height of 20' sometimes more. 4) crape myrtles need to be rooted from long, leafless, hardwood cutting, not condusive to bonsai, also they tend not to branch as you want a bonsai to. sorry. it does not flower; but a low growing juniper; pfitzer, is good. try to find one that has been neglected even abused at some large nursery. it will be in the back or half hidden some place off to the side or way in back. hold it up at eye level and try to picture what you can do with it.
